Grant lets Sharon schools continue fresh fruits, veggies program

SHARON – The elementary schools in Sharon City School District will continue with a fresh fruits and vegetable program, thanks to a state grant.

Case Avenue, C.M. Musser and West Hill elementary schools received a combined $73,000 to continue to provide fruits and vegetables to students, the Pennsylvania Department of Education announced.

New PBS series to feature seven Sharon movers and shakers

SHARON – City Centric, a new series on PBS Western Reserve, will focus on Sharon people who reflect the fabric of their community.

The show featuring Sharon will air at 8:30 p.m. Oct 6 on WNEO 45.1/WEAO 49.1. It will also be available on demand via the PBS Western Reserve website, PBS app and YouTube.

City of Sharon gets state grant to demolish former Huntington Bank building

Demolishing the Huntington building is part of a bigger plan to create a public recreation space next to the Shenango River in downtown Sharon.

Sharon kicks off summer events

SHARON – A Mother’s Day Artisan Marketplace today will kick off a crowded slate of summer events in the city.

“Celebrating Mother’s Day was the reason we decided to put on this first-time event Saturday,” said Courtney Cilli, Sharon’s downtown events coordinator.
